Mario Kart Cameron

January 19th, 2009

Cameron has always enjoyed watching me play Mario Kart.  So, the other night I figured I would give him a shot at it.  I was really surprised that he kinda understood what to do.   Too bad the controller is to big for his hands.  I decided to take some video and share it.  It was hastily put together so pay no attention to continuity / duplicate shot issues.  Particularly ones involving Kristin changing Conner in the background.  I am not a professional!

What’s on ESPN

January 14th, 2009

A slight departure from the norm…

I decided to revisit a project I had worked on for fun last year and post it to the blog.  Basically, it will show you a screen grab from ESPN when the page is loaded.  Useless, geeky, and totally awesome.  I could tell you how it works, but where’s the fun in that?

Cameron: Cruising

January 13th, 2009

I got a Sony HDR-SR10 video camera in August prior to Cameron’s birthday.  I used it for his birthday, then put it away for a while.  One day I got home, realized that I had not done anything cool with the camera.  So I went out and shot him riding around in his little car.  Nothing special, just messing around.  I found it recently and decided to put some music to it and post it on vimeo.  Be sure and check it out in HD.  Enjoy!

Cameron: Future Basketball Star

January 5th, 2009

I took some video of Cameron playing with his new basketball goal he got for Christmas and made a clip.  These were shot using my Sony HDR-SR10 in Slow Motion mode.  I am very happy with the results and love this camera! I am not sure why it is not in HD, I may need to render it again.

The Darndest Things

November 23rd, 2008

I believe it was Bill Cosby who coined the phrase, “Kids say the darndest things”.  Well, Kristin and I have realized this to be true as Cameron is starting to become very verbal.  A few of our favorites.

The color of money – With our (and everyone else’s) IRA’s in the tank lately, I am glad Cameron is already thinking green (money, that is).  If you ask him what color anything is, it’s green.  Cameron, What color is Elmo?  green.  What color is the sky?  green.  However, this is advantageous while boasting of his smarts in front of others.  Just ask him what color something green is.  Works every time.  However, astute individuals may notice you always ask him what color a green item is.

Love of the sport – Cameron has got to be the best football fan ever.  He cannot bother himself with rooting for an individual team or player.  He stands in front of the TV and proudly exclaims, “Yay, football!” when anything happens.  He just likes to see the sport do well.  This is fine except when he is rooting for a team that just scored on Tennessee.  Then he is scolded immediately.

The third person – Like the Rock, Cameron always references himself in the third person.  This may be a common thing among toddlers as me or mine is a whole different concept than every object having a label.  Anyways, I thought it was funny recently when I was tickling him by biting on his ribs, and he said, “No Daddy, Don’t bite Cameron!”.

These are probably not as funny to some people as they are to us, I know I have sat through many “guess what my kid does” talks.  But, I thought some of the parents reading might appreciate it.  Let’s hear of your funny stories.
